Roommate

हिन्दी · Hindi Commercial Comedy 20 seconds 1 character Comedy Good first script
BRIEF Product: haircare — leave-in serum or oil. Target: 18–24, students and first-jobbers, hostel and PG living. Tone: high energy, genuine, fast. Direct-to-camera, vlog-adjacent. Must land: energy without shrillness. Pace without swallowing consonants. COPY मेरी roommate मेरा charger लेती है. मेरा shampoo लेती है. कल मेरे chips खा गई — पूरे. (shrugs) मैंने कभी कुछ नहीं कहा. (picks up the bottle — turn to lens, and the shrug is gone) पर ये नहीं. ये मेरा है. [BRAND] — हफ़्ते में दो बार. दो हफ़्ते में फ़र्क़. (beat — she cracks) …ठीक है. एक बार दे दूँगी. (beat, firmer, to herself) एक बार.

How to play it

This is a pace and clarity test disguised as an energy read. The trap is that fast delivery makes most performers mush their consonants — record it once at your natural pace and once 20% faster, and submit whichever stays crisp. The list must escalate: charger is nothing, shampoo is mildly annoying, the chips are a genuine betrayal. Three different sizes of irritation, delivered fast. Then "मैंने कभी कुछ नहीं कहा" is the shrug — she is a pushover and she knows it. "पर ये नहीं. ये मेरा है." is the only moment of steel in the spot and it should arrive without warning. Drop the energy, do not raise it — quiet resolve reads stronger than volume. The button is a two-stage collapse. Performers who play the last line as a joke lose it. Play it as genuine, failing negotiation and it is funny by itself. Look straight down the lens from the bottle pickup onward. This format lives on vertical video and the eyeline is non-negotiable.
