Why we built this

An industry running on WhatsApp forwards and a fee at every door.

Ask anyone who has tried to get cast in India. The call sheet arrives third-hand in a group chat. Somewhere along the way a coordinator asks for two thousand rupees. If you live in Kochi or Indore, the audition is in Andheri on Tuesday morning and that is the end of it.

Casting directors have the mirror-image problem. They shortlist from whoever their assistant already knows, which means the same faces, the same city, the same three languages — and a fortnight lost to scheduling.

Both sides are paying for a middle layer that adds nothing. Castkro removes it: joining and applying are free, casting directors post free, and the two find each other directly.

Our no-fee pledge

Nobody pays for an audition. That is the whole model.

No registration fee, no audition fee, no “portfolio package”, no commission on what anyone earns. Casting directors post free too. We earn from optional visibility plans and casting tools — never from access to an audition.

  1. 01 A casting director can verify their business, and that badge shows on the calls they post.
  2. 02 Numbers stay hidden — messaging happens inside Castkro until both sides choose otherwise.
  3. 03 Every live call has to say what it pays before you can apply to it.
  4. 04 If anyone asks talent to pay for an audition, report them. That is grounds for removal.
