Shaadi
Meera, 24, in her bedroom, on the edge of a bed covered in wedding shopping. Her mother has just
left the room.
(picks up a red dupatta, holds it, doesn't unfold it)
(sets the dupatta down)
(pause)
(stands)
How to play it
Play it as a plea, not a fight. She keeps pulling herself back from anger — "मैं ना नहीं कह रही"
should land gently, as reassurance rather than defence.
Run the two-line contrast together with no pause between; the pause goes after.
Use the dupatta as your anchor — picking it up, holding it, setting it down maps to the emotional
arc.
"मैं आपकी बेटी हूँ — आपकी तस्वीर नहीं" is the peak. Don't push it. Let it sit.
