Your Own Material
This is not a script. It is where a performance goes when it is not a take on one of ours.
Use it for a monologue you have prepared, a scene from your own work, a showreel cut, or anything
else you want on your profile. The same rules apply as everywhere else on Perform: the length
bounds, the format, and the moderation standards.
If you are performing one of our scripts, pick that script instead — a casting director comparing
twenty takes on the same piece can judge you against the others, and that comparison is the whole
point of the library.
How to play it
Because nobody else is performing the same words, this is judged entirely on its own — you get no
benefit from comparison, which is the strongest thing the scripted pieces give you.
So use it deliberately: for material that shows something the library does not ask for, or for a
piece you already perform well. If you are starting out, shoot a slate and a scripted monologue
first.
Say what the piece is in the note field when you submit. A casting director looking at an unlabelled
sixty seconds has no idea what they are watching.
