Open Post a casting call, fill in four steps, and publish. A call can go live once it has a title, a description, compensation and at least one published role. New calls are checked before they appear publicly, which usually takes under a minute.
Before you start
Have these ready. You can save and come back, but the call will not publish without them.
- What you are casting for, and where it shoots
- At least one role, with an age range and a role type
- What the work pays, even if the answer is nothing
Step 1: Production basics

A description that gets good applications says what the project is, roughly when it shoots, and what you want from an applicant. Two short paragraphs beat one long one.
A six-episode Hindi drama for a streaming platform, shooting in Mumbai across three weeks in November. We are casting the two leads and four supporting roles. Tell us about any long-form screen work you have done, and include a recent self-tape if you have one.

Phone numbers, email addresses, social handles and outside links are replaced with ••••• in a
casting call's title, description and other written details, and in each role's name and
description. This happens to every call, and it is not a moderation decision you can appeal.
Applicants reach you through Castkro instead, which is what lets us act when somebody is asked for money. If you have pasted your number in and it disappeared, that is why.
Step 2: Roles
Add one role for each part you are casting. A role carries its own age range, gender, role type and skills, and that is what performers match against, so splitting parts out gets you better applicants than one catch-all role.
The shortest useful role looks like this:

Two limits worth knowing before you fill the form in: an age range can span at most 40 years, and one role can carry at most 20 vacancies. Both are wider for background roles.
Write the age range you will actually consider
An age range is a filter, not a wish. Setting 18 to 58 because you are open-minded means your
call reaches almost everybody and your shortlist is unusable. Set the range you would genuinely
audition, and add a second role if you are open to two very different castings.
There is no limit on how many roles a call can carry, but you cannot delete the last one.
Step 3: Audition and logistics
This is where you set how long the project runs, when the listing should expire, and what it pays.
- Listing expiry must be a future date. Applications close at the very start of that day (05:30 in India), not at the end of it, so pick the day after the last day you want applications. It is not the shoot date.
- Preferred talent locations widens who sees the call. Leave it empty if you only want people who can reach the shoot city themselves.
- Compensation is required. If the work is unpaid you also have to say why, and

Saying what the work pays is not optional, and it is the single thing performers tell us they most want to see before applying.
Step 4: Review and publish
Read the preview, then publish. If something is missing you will be told exactly what, and the usual answer is a role still sitting in draft.
New calls go to review before appearing publicly. Most are checked in under a minute, and a call that needs a person from our team to look at it takes longer. While a call is under review it shows in the Under review tab of My Casting Calls, and nobody else can see it.
FAQ
Why is my casting call still under review?
Every new call is checked before it goes live, usually in under a minute. A call held for a person from our team takes longer. If it was declined you will get a note explaining which part needs changing, and you can ask for another review after you have edited it.
Can I edit a call after it is published?
Yes. A call that is already live stays live while your changes are checked. It only comes down if the check declines the edit, and then you get a note saying what to change.
Why did my phone number disappear from the description?
Contact details are removed from every casting call automatically. Applicants reach you through Castkro instead.
How many roles can one casting call have?
As many as you need. You cannot delete the last one, because a call with no roles cannot publish.
My call will not publish and I cannot see why
Check all four of these: a title, a project description, compensation, and at least one role whose status is published rather than draft. A role left in draft is the usual cause.
