How to Create a Casting Director Profile on Castkro

Sign up and choose Casting Director, then fill in three setup screens: About you, Casting work, and Standards and goals. You must be 18 or over, and Indian phone numbers are verified with a one-time code.

Sign up, choose Casting Director, then fill in three short setup screens: About you, Casting work, and Standards & goals. You need to be 18 or over. Posting casting calls is free, so the plan screen at the end can be skipped.

Before you start

Have these ready. Setup takes a few minutes.

A mobile number you can receive a code on, if it is an Indian (+91) number
The city you mainly work from
The year you started working in casting or production

Step 1: Create your account

Tap Join Free on Castkro to open Create your profile. Under This profile is for…, choose Casting Director. Enter Your date of birth, your Email and a Password of at least 8 characters, tick the Terms of Use box, and tap Sign Up Now.

You must be 18 or over to hire

A casting director books performers and takes responsibility for them on set, so this side of Castkro is for adults only. If the date of birth you enter is under 18, the form says so and will not continue. Someone under 18 can still be on Castkro as a performer, with a parent or guardian holding the account.

Once your account exists, Castkro takes you straight to setup. If you leave part way, your dashboard sends you back to the screen you had not finished.

Step 2: About you

The first screen is headed Build your professional profile.

Tap Next.

If your number is Indian (+91), a box titled Verify your phone number opens. Enter the code from the SMS under Verification code and tap Verify. If it does not arrive, wait for Resend code to become available. Castkro only moves you on once the number is verified.

Your phone number has to be your own

A number that is already on another Castkro account is refused with This Phone number is already used by some other user. Use a number only you hold.

Step 3: Casting work

This screen is headed Your casting work. It is how Castkro matches you with the right talent.

Production types, for example Web Series and Advertisements
Languages you cast for, for example Hindi
Preferred age ranges, for example Adults (26-35)
Primary casting locations, for example Mumbai and Pune

You need to fill in at least one of those four. Working since (year) is required on its own, for example 2014. Tap Next.

Step 4: Standards and goals

This screen is headed Your story & goals.

Read the Community standards. You commit to treating talent with respect, never asking for inappropriate photos, videos or personal favours, not discriminating, being clear about roles and pay, not harassing anyone, and reporting violations you see.
Tick I agree to uphold these professional standards. You cannot finish setup without it.
Under What would you like to do first?, choose one: Post a casting immediately, Browse talent profiles or Explore the platform.
Tap Continue.

You can add your bio later from your dashboard. It is not needed to finish setup.

Step 5: Choose a plan or continue free

The last screen is headed Reach more talent. Posting casting calls is free. To carry on without paying, tap Continue with the free plan. You land on Welcome to Castkro, and Go to your dashboard takes you in.

After setup

To change anything you entered, open your dashboard and tap Edit profile. It has four tabs: Basic info, Production scope, Experience and About.

FAQ

I already have a performer account. Can I use it as a casting director?

Not by yourself today. One login cannot switch between a performer profile and a casting director profile on its own. Write to us through the contact page and ask for a casting director profile to be added to your account.

Why do I have to give my date of birth?

Only adults can hire on Castkro, and your date of birth is how that is checked. You give it at sign-up, and the first setup screen shows it again so you can correct it.

I did not get the verification code

Check that the number is 10 digits with no leading zero, then wait for Resend code and try again. If it still does not arrive, contact us through the contact page.

Do I have to pay to post casting calls?

No. Posting casting calls is free. Paid plans add contact credits and remove the limit on how many conversations you can start.

I finished setup but keep being sent back to it

Something required is still empty. Setup needs your first and last name, your city, at least one profession, at least one casting work answer, the year you started, the community standards box, and an answer to What would you like to do first?. The screen that is sent back to you is the one missing something.
