You will be asked to sign in first. We will bring you straight back to this step.
Open Account settings, then the Notifications tab. Each kind of notification has two switches: In-app for the bell and your Notifications page, and Email for your inbox. A few alerts, about payments, security and your account's standing, always reach you whatever you set.
Where notifications show up
- The bell at the top of every signed-in page. It opens a short list with Mark all read and See all notifications.
- Notifications in your account menu, which is the full list.
- Mailbox in your account menu. It keeps every campaign and announcement email Castkro has sent you, even ones you unsubscribed from, so you can read them on the site.
Messages in your account menu is different: those are your conversations with people.
Choose what reaches you
- Open your account menu and select Account settings.
- Select the Notifications tab.
- Find the category, for example Roles for you.
- Switch In-app or Email off. The change saves as soon as you tap it.
Every switch starts on. Turning one off stops new notifications of that kind. It does not remove the ones you already have.
| Category | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Casting activity | Applications, invitations, shortlists, and your casting calls being approved or closing |
| Messages | New messages in your conversations |
| Roles for you | Casting calls that match your profile, and saved search alerts. Casting directors see this as Talent for you |
| Profile insights | Weekly profile views and search appearances. Casting directors see this as Casting call insights |
| Tips and reminders | Nudges to finish your profile, add photos or verify your phone |
| Billing | Subscription payments, renewals, invoices and low credits |
| Account and security | Your ID check, and your profile entering or leaving Discovery |
| News from Castkro | Announcements and campaign messages |
What cannot be turned off
Some alerts always reach you, even if their category is switched off: a failed payment, a cancelled subscription, a new invoice, an Identity verified badge being withdrawn, a casting call that was not approved, and your profile leaving Discovery. Each one means something needs your attention or has changed about your money or your access.
Casting call suggestion emails
Performers and guardians also have a Preferences tab with one switch.
- Performers see New casting call suggestions, which emails you when a relevant new casting call is posted.
- Guardians see Casting call emails about the profiles you manage. We always tell a guardian when someone messages their child, whatever this is set to.
Change the switch, then select Save preferences.
Push notifications on your phone
If you use the Castkro app on your phone, alerts on your lock screen are controlled from your phone's own notification settings for the app, not from this page.
FAQ
I unsubscribed from an email. Why is it still in my Mailbox?
Unsubscribing stops the emails arriving in your inbox. Mailbox is a copy on the site, so messages already sent to you stay there for you to read.
Why do I only get a few suggestions a day?
We limit how many lighter notifications, such as role suggestions, tips and news, reach you each day, so the ones that matter are not buried. Casting activity, messages, billing and account alerts are not limited.
I switched off an email but still got one about a payment. Why?
Payment, invoice and account standing alerts cannot be switched off, because they tell you about your money or your access.
Do guardians get notifications about their child?
Emails about a child's profile come to the guardian's email address. Automated role matches, profile view reports and ranking updates are not sent about a performer under 18, while news about their applications and messages still is. Castkro's policy for performers under 18 explains why.
