How to Reach a Casting Director on Castkro

Castkro does not publish casting directors' phone or WhatsApp numbers, and casting calls have contact details removed. You reach a casting director by applying to their casting call, or by messaging them on Castkro. Replying to a casting director is always free, and nobody genuine asks you to pay.

Why there is no phone number to find

Phone numbers, email addresses and social handles are removed from every casting call on Castkro, and replaced with •••••. This is deliberate. A first conversation on Castkro is one we can look at and act on if somebody asks you for money.

Four ways to reach a casting director

1. Apply to their casting call

This is the main way, and it works on every plan. Your note goes to the casting director with your profile.

1. Open Casting Calls and pick a listing.
2. In Apply for a role, choose the role.
3. In Describe why you're the best fit, write a short note. For example: Mumbai-based, 24, fluent in Hindi and Gujarati. I can travel for the shoot dates and have a recent self-tape ready.
4. Tap Apply now.

2. Message them from their profile

1. Open one of their casting calls and tap Posted by followed by their name. Their profile opens.
2. Tap Message.
3. Write your message and send it.

On a paid performer plan (Starter, Spotlight or Elite), this starts a conversation. On the free plan the Message button is greyed out, with Upgrade to message casting directors directly next to it. That rule is about starting a conversation only.

3. Reply when they message you

When a casting director messages you, open Messages and reply. This is free on every plan, and never limited, because the casting director started the conversation.

4. They unlock your contact details

A casting director can pay to see your phone number or email address, and then call you directly. They can only do this while they have a live casting call on Castkro. Whether they see your number is up to you: turn Show my phone number on or off in Account settings.

Before you share your own number

• Keep talking on Castkro until you know the production's name, the role and the audition details.
• A real casting director does not need your Aadhaar, PAN or bank details to consider you.
• If someone pushes you off Castkro straight away, or asks for any fee, stop and report them with Report on their profile or in the conversation.

FAQ

Can I get a casting director's WhatsApp number from Castkro?

No. Castkro does not share casting directors' numbers. Apply to their casting calls or message them on Castkro.

Why is the Message button greyed out?

You are on the free performer plan, which cannot start conversations with casting directors. You can still apply to their casting calls, and you can reply whenever they message you first.

It says "You can't contact this person"

Messaging, invitations, applications and contact details are not available between your two accounts, for example because one of you has blocked the other. Nothing you pay for changes that. How blocking works.

A casting director messaged me. Do I need a paid plan to reply?

No. Replying is free on every plan.

Someone says they are a casting director and wants a fee to confirm my role. Is that normal?

No. Nobody genuine asks for money to audition, register or be cast, and Castkro never does. Report it using They asked me for money.

Is a paid plan the same as paying a casting director?

No. A performer plan is an optional subscription for your own Castkro account, bought only through Castkro. It is never paid to a person. See Castkro subscription plans.

I am under 18. Can casting directors message me?

Contact about a child's profile goes to their parent or guardian, not to the child. See Castkro's policy for performers under 18.
