Select Block on someone's profile, or at the top of your conversation with them, and confirm. From then on neither of you can message, invite, unlock contact details from or apply to the other. They are not told. You can undo it any time from Account & settings, under Blocked people.
Before you start
- You need to be signed in. Block only appears when you are.
- Blocking is not reporting. A block stops contact between the two of you. It does not tell our team anything. If someone asked you for money, sent something inappropriate or is pretending to be someone else, report them as well.
Step 1: Select Block
| Where you are | Where to find Block |
|---|---|
| A performer's or casting director's profile | Select Block, next to Report. |
| A conversation | Select Block at the top of the thread, next to the report icon. |
| The report form | Leave Also block this person ticked when you submit the report. |
Step 2: Confirm
A box opens with Block and the person's name. It explains what blocking does. Select Block to confirm, or Cancel to change your mind.
What a block does
It works both ways. Neither of you can:
- start a conversation or send a message to the other
- unlock the other's phone number or email, including details that were unlocked before the block
- invite the other to apply for a role, or send a reminder about an invitation
- accept an invitation from the other, or apply to the other's casting calls
Conversations you already have stay in your messages and you can still read them, but no one can send anything new. You also stop getting notifications about each other.
A block does not hide profiles or casting calls. Both of you can still see the other's public profile and listings.
Credits are not refunded
If you are a casting director and you unlocked someone's contact details before blocking them, the credits you spent are not returned.
What the other person sees
They are not told they have been blocked. Where they would message you, invite you or apply, they see You can't contact this person.
How to unblock someone
- Open your profile menu and select Account settings.
- Select the Blocked people tab.
- Select Unblock next to the person, then Unblock again to confirm.
You can also select Unblock on their profile or at the top of your conversation with them. After unblocking, you can both contact each other again.
If you manage a child's profile
When you are in a conversation on your child's behalf, Block blocks that person for your child. It does not block them from your own account. The blocks you make for your child are listed under Blocked people in your own account and settings, marked with your child's name, and only you can undo them.
FAQ
Will they know I blocked them?
No. We do not send them anything, and they see the same You can't contact this person message they would see for any other reason.
Can I still see their profile?
Yes. Blocking stops contact, not viewing. If someone is using what is on your public profile to harass you, report them.
I blocked someone by mistake. What do I do?
Go to Account & settings, open Blocked people and select Unblock. Nothing between you was deleted, so your old conversation is still there.
Does blocking someone stop them applying to my casting call?
Yes. While the block is in place, they cannot apply to your casting calls and you cannot invite them. Applications they sent before the block stay in your applicant list.
