Signing Up for Castkro When You Are Under 18

If you are under 18, Castkro does not create an account from the sign-up form. Instead you give us a parent or guardian's email, we invite them, and they set up and run your performer profile for you.

Castkro accounts are held by adults, so if you are under 18 the sign-up form does not create an account. Instead it asks for a parent or guardian's email and invites them. They create their own account, add your profile, and handle messages from casting directors, while the roles you win are yours.

Why Castkro works this way

Performers under 18 are protected differently: casting directors reach them through a parent or guardian, nobody can buy their phone number or email, and their date of birth is never shown. That only works if an adult holds the account. Castkro's policy for performers under 18 explains all of it.

If you are under 18 and signing up yourself

The sign-up form with an under-18 date of birth, asking whether the account is for you or for your child

The sign-up form after choosing This is me, explaining that a parent or guardian is asked to set up the profile

  1. On the sign-up page, choose Performer / Artist and fill in your name.
  2. Under Your date of birth, choose your real day, month and year. Castkro goes by your real age, not the age range you can play.
  3. The form asks Is this account for you, or for your child? Choose This is me.
  4. The form says it will ask for a parent or guardian's email next. The email and password boxes are removed, so nothing about you is sent. Select Continue.
  5. On Ask a parent or guardian, enter their address in Your parent or guardian's email, for example sunita.sharma@gmail.com, and select Send it to them.

You will see We've emailed them. Nothing has been saved and nothing has been lost. Ask them to look for the email, including in their spam folder.

Use their email, not yours

The address has to reach your parent or guardian. If you enter the same email you tried to sign up with, the form refuses it. Typed it wrong? Select Send it to a different address.

Signing up with Google works the same way: you are asked for your date of birth before an account is made, and if you are under 18 you are asked for a parent or guardian's email instead.

Signing up to cast, not perform?

You need to be 18 or over to post casting calls and hire talent. A casting director account cannot be held for someone under 18, by a parent or anyone else.

If you are the parent or guardian who got the email

The email is titled with your child's name, for example Riya needs a parent or guardian to set up their Castkro profile.

  1. Select Set up their profile in the email. The link works once and stops working after 14 days.
  2. Create your own Castkro account, with your own name, email and date of birth. If you already have an account, sign in instead.
  3. Verify your phone number when asked. We use it to confirm an adult is responsible for the profile.
  4. On Set up their profile, check your child's name, enter their real date of birth, tick the consent box and select Create their profile.

From there you build the profile and act for your child. Managing a child's profile as a parent or guardian covers every step.

If you were not expecting the email, you can ignore it. Nothing has been created, and we will not email you about it again.

If you already had an account and are asked your age

Some older accounts were opened before Castkro asked for a date of birth. When you next open your dashboard you may see What's your date of birth?. If the answer is under 18, Castkro asks who is using the account:

  • It's mine (you are the performer, and under 18): you are asked to get an adult to confirm the account. Until a parent or guardian confirms, casting directors cannot contact the profile.
  • It's my child's (you are their parent or guardian): you take over the profile, and confirm the email and phone on it become your details.

Either way, the profile, its photos and its applications stay exactly as they are.

FAQ

Can I lie about my age to get my own account?

Please do not. Your date of birth is what lets Castkro protect you, and it cannot be edited once saved. An account found to belong to someone under 18 is restricted until a parent or guardian takes responsibility for it.

My parent did not get the email. What now?

Ask them to check their spam folder. If it is not there, go back to the sign-up page and start again with the correct address, or ask them to create their own account and add you from Child profiles.

I put my date of birth in wrong. How do I fix it?

On the Ask a parent or guardian page, select Start the sign-up again and enter the right date.

Will I be able to use the profile myself?

Your parent or guardian signs in and runs it with you. When you turn 18, they can hand the profile to you, and from then on you sign in with your own password and keep everything on it.

What about casting directors who are 17?

Castkro cannot create a casting director account for anyone under 18, and a guardian cannot hold one for them.
