Getting the Identity Verified Badge
Open Account settings, go to the Verification tab, tick the consent box and select Verify with DigiLocker. It is free, takes about two minutes, and needs a DigiLocker account and a profile ready for the badge.

Open Account settings, go to the Verification tab, tick the consent box and select Verify with DigiLocker. You confirm your identity on DigiLocker, the Government of India's service, and come straight back with an Identity verified badge on your profile. It takes about two minutes if you already use DigiLocker.
What the badge means
The Identity verified badge says the person holding this account completed a government ID check. It appears on your profile and, for casting directors, beside your name on your casting calls.
- It is about the person, not the name. You can keep using your stage name.
- It is not a guarantee. It does not vouch for a particular role, project or conversation. Keep using the red flags in Staying safe with verified accounts too.
- While the feature is new, the badge may carry a Beta marker. The check behind it is complete.
Why Castkro may ask you to verify
To keep performers and casting directors safe, Castkro can ask accounts that are not verified to verify before they use more of the product. Nothing you already have is taken away, and one check lifts every one of these at once.
| You are | What can wait until you verify |
|---|---|
| A casting director | Seeing more of your applicants in the Application Manager, and unlocking more contact details |
| A performer | Seeing and answering more invitations, seeing what casting directors decided on your applications, and opening more conversations |
When this applies to you, the page says so and offers a Verify button that brings you here. Counts stay true, so the number of applicants or invitations you see is the real total, and no credits are used when an unlock waits for verification.
Who can verify
The Verification tab tells you straight away if something is in the way, and links to the fix.
| What the tab says | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Finish your profile first | The badge needs a real profile behind it. The tab lists what is missing. | Select Finish my profile. |
| Verify your phone number first | Casting directors need a verified phone number. | Select Verify my number. |
| Not available | This is a child's profile managed by a guardian. Child profiles are never eligible. | A guardian can verify their own account instead. |
| Too many attempts today | You tried several times in the last 24 hours. | Try again tomorrow. |
For performers, a profile is ready when it has a profile photo, at least one role type, a bio of at least 50 characters, and profile completion of at least 60%. For casting directors, the bar is a verified phone number and profile completion of at least 40%.
What you need before you start
- A DigiLocker account. If you do not have one, you can create it on DigiLocker in a few minutes with your Aadhaar number.
- The mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. DigiLocker sends a one-time code to it.
Step 1: Open the Verification tab
Open the account menu, select Account settings, then select Verification. Under Identity verification you see what casting directors will see on your profile, and the three steps of the check.
Step 2: Read and tick the consent
The Before you continue box lists exactly what Castkro uses your identity details for: confirming your identity, showing the badge, letting our staff review a check by hand if it does not pass automatically, and detecting duplicate or previously removed accounts.
Tick I have read this and I consent to Castkro using my identity details for the purposes listed above.
Step 3: Verify on DigiLocker
- Select Verify with DigiLocker. You are taken to DigiLocker.
- Sign in to DigiLocker and enter the one-time code sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile.
- Allow DigiLocker to share your details with Castkro.
- You come back to the Verification tab. When the check passes it says Your identity is verified. There is nothing more to do.
Keep the DigiLocker tab open until you are done
If you close it part-way, the tab says You have a verification open and shows how long that DigiLocker link has left. It stops working about 15 minutes after you opened it, and then you can start a fresh check. An abandoned check does not use up one of your attempts.
If it does not pass
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Someone is checking this by hand | The check could not be settled automatically. A member of our team is looking at it and will let you know. There is nothing you need to do. |
| Your DigiLocker account is not linked to Aadhaar | Link Aadhaar inside DigiLocker first, then come back and run it again. Trying before that gives the same answer. |
| DigiLocker did not confirm your identity | We are not told why. If you left DigiLocker part-way through, select Try again and complete every step. |
| We could not run the check | A problem on our side or DigiLocker's. Try again in a little while. This does not use up an attempt. |
You have 5 attempts in any 24 hours.
Registered business (casting directors, optional)
A casting director's Verification tab has a second, optional part: Registered business. It is separate from identity: it says your company is registered for GST, not who holds the account.
- Under Registered business, enter your GSTIN, for example
27ABCDE1234F1Z5. - Select Verify business.
When the GST registry confirms it, your profile shows a Registered business marker. Plenty of casting directors work without a GSTIN, and your identity badge does not depend on this step.
What Castkro keeps, and removing the badge
- Your Aadhaar number is entered on DigiLocker, never on Castkro. We do not store it, in full or masked.
- We keep your name and date of birth only so our staff can review a check that did not pass automatically. They are never shown to anyone, including on your profile.
- We keep a one-way code to detect duplicate accounts. It cannot be read back as your name, date of birth or Aadhaar number.
To withdraw your consent, open the Verification tab, select Remove my verification, then Remove verification. We delete what we kept, the badge comes off straight away, and you get an Acknowledgement reference on the page and by email. You can verify again later.
FAQ
Do I need a paid plan to verify?
No. Identity verification is free on every plan, including the free plan.
Can my child's profile be verified?
No. Child profiles managed by a guardian are never eligible. If you are the guardian, verifying your own account shows Guardian identity verified on the profiles you manage.
Will casting directors see my Aadhaar details or date of birth?
No. Nothing DigiLocker sends us is shown to anyone, on your profile or anywhere else. They only see the badge.
I already have an account that was verified. Can I verify a second account?
A second account for the same person is sent to our team to review by hand rather than verified automatically. Most people should only ever need one account.
Castkro says my account needs verification. What does that mean?
Occasionally, after a report, our team asks an account to verify. A banner says Your account needs verification with a Verify my identity button. Completing the check clears that request. Everything else on your account keeps working in the meantime.
